Pedicures
A pedicure is a wonderful pampering treatment involving the appearance of and care for the feet and nails. On a practical level a pedicure is useful in preventing disorders and diseases of the nails and feet.
What to Expect:
The procedures within the pedicure depend to a large extent with a luxury treatment involving a foot spa, foot & calf massage, cuticle work, exfoliation, cutting and shaping of the nails, finishing with a full polish of the nails. Shorter treatments tend not to include the foot spa and massage as per the discussion of your requirements with the beauty therapist.
Benefits:
A good pedicure invokes conscious self-maintenance and self care as well as providing an opportunity to de-stress and allow your mind to rest. From the perspective of preventive care, a pedicure improves ones awareness of potential feet and nail problems.
Equipment Required:
In the salon a pedicure is performed in a special pedicure chair, however in other environments the pedicure may be performed with two standard chairs facing each other or with the therapist sitting on a stool they provide themselves. Towels are provided to cover the area over which the pedicure takes place and the therapists provides a full range of tools and polishes and a foot spa if required.
Room Required:
The pedicure can realistically be performed anywhere there is space for two standard chairs. Access to water and electricity is required for pedicures including a foot spa.
Recommended Treatment Lengths:
The pedicure is quite an involved treatment, especially if the feet and nails have not been treated recently. We therefore recommend a minimum of 30 minutes for an 'Express Pedicure' and 45 minutes for a 'Luxury Pedicure'
Event Suitability:
Pedicures are suitable for office pamper days or as part of a an ongoing programme for the provision of beauty treatments in the office. Due to the time involved in pedicures they do not tend to be practically suited for public events where manicures, seated massage and Indian Head Massage may be more appropriate. If the environment and time allowances suit however, we would be happy to provide pedicures as part of any event.
